Home/Services

Eight services. One crew.
Every tree, properly handled.

67 years of Kansas City tree work means we've handled every situation this region produces — tornado drops, ice-load splits, oak wilt, root damage to foundations. Every job done right, by the same owner-operated crew Chuck Brasher built.

01 · Removal

Tree removal — surgical, not destructive.

Sometimes the tree has to come down. A diseased trunk over the roof. A dead elm after the storm. A protected oak with a permit. We rig, we lower, we cut. We don't drop. The fence stays up. The garden survives.

  • Crane-assisted removal for tight residential lots
  • Bucket-truck access where appropriate
  • Climber-only work in protected canopies
  • Kansas City protected-tree compliance & permits
  • Wood & debris hauled · site left broom-clean

02 · Pruning

Trimming & pruning done right.

There's pruning that helps a tree and pruning that hurts it. We do the kind that helps. Crown cleaning, structural pruning on young trees, end-weight reduction on mature oaks, and the pre-storm thinning that lets Kansas City wind pass through your canopy instead of breaking it.

  • Crown cleaning, raising, reduction, restoration
  • Structural pruning for young trees
  • Mature oak end-weight reduction
  • Pre-storm canopy thinning
  • Ornamental tree shaping & seasonal clean-up

03 · Storm response

The morning after a Kansas City storm.

When a tornado or severe front tears through the metro, our phones ring before sunrise. We've handled KC storm aftermath since 1957. The crew knows what the first day looks like — clear the driveway, get the tree off the roof, document for the adjuster, come back for the rest.

  • 24/7 storm dispatch · same-day priority
  • Trees on structures · safe extraction
  • Insurance documentation & direct billing
  • Blocked driveways & access roads
  • Long-term storm recovery scheduling

04 · Health care

Saving the tree, not just cutting it.

Most calls we get about a "sick tree" turn into a treatment plan, not a removal quote. Deep-root fertilization, soil decompaction, fungal treatments for oak wilt and root rot, insect management. Mature trees are worth saving — usually they can be.

  • Diagnosis & written care plan
  • Deep-root fertilization & soil care
  • Pest management (scale, aphids, borers)
  • Fungal & bacterial disease treatment
  • Pre & post-construction tree protection

05 · Support hardware

Cabling & bracing — when removal is the wrong answer.

A century-old oak with split codominant leaders is not always a removal job. It may be a hardware job. Steel cables in the upper canopy, threaded rods through weak unions — installed to industry standards. Done right, the tree keeps standing for decades more.

  • Codominant-stem cabling (steel, EHS)
  • Through-rod bracing for weak unions
  • Static vs. dynamic system selection
  • Annual inspection & re-tensioning
  • Heritage-tree preservation plans

06 · Stump grinding

Stump grinding — 6 to 12 inches below grade.

After the tree comes down, the stump goes too. We grind 6–12 inches below grade depending on what's going in afterward — sod, new tree, or hardscape. Surface roots out. Mulch hauled or left on site, your call.

  • Residential, commercial, HOA
  • Surface-root removal
  • Stump-only quotes (we'll grind one you didn't drop)
  • Mulch hauled or kept on site
  • Sod-ready prep on request
